Inspiration: It's no secret that Brandon and I love food, but something that we don't mention as much on here is that we also love craft beer. I'm talking in an obsessive way. Luckily, we live in an area with a ton of great breweries around that we frequent often. One of the things that we've noticed is that craft breweries tend to care abut where their food comes from/how it's made, and thus the food at our local breweries is usually pretty fantastic.

Pizza Pesce Birra Restaruant has just installed a PizzaMaster 2 deck oven in their highly productive kitchen, at the foot of the Spit bridge. The chef, Jardin, was born in Sweden and trained as a pizza chef before coming to Australia and continuing on with his pizza skills.

In my last sales role I had the honour of working with Adriano Zumbo, Patissier extraordinaire, providing the ovens for his new patisserie ’Adriano Zumbo”‘@ The Star www.adrianozumbo.com.au.
At the opening, there were no Oompa Loompas insite, while he isn’t Willy Wonka, Zumbo comes close. His patisserie had the most amazing, fabulous, sensational desserts in the whole world all provided on a sushi train with the theme of the Mouse Trap game you might remember playing as a child.

Yesterday I visited Our Lady of Consolation Aged (OLOC)with Ben Maddalena who has just joined MKA as our Service Manager. He’ll be taking care of all our spare parts, installation of new equipment, and service enquiries.
Like an increasing number of aged care services, OLOC have a few pieces of MKA equipment including 2x Joni Kettles, a Jeros utensil washer and many Scanboxes.
Aged care facilities use the Scanboxes to transport hot food across to the wings dining rooms .
I get a lot of call outs and enjoy being on the road talking to our customers but I particularly like visiting OLOC because my Nanna is living in the high care Dementia ward.
Winter is crawling to an end and Food Melbourne is nearly here again. Come visit me at the MKA stand (number HK26) between September 10-13 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
MKA is taking a new and exciting concept to the show this year. Our stand will have a small dining area and Palux chefs showing their skills with the help of the new Touch’n'steam Combi ovens. We’ll be treating show visitors to a sit down tasting menu – you might need to do some elbowing to get to the head of the queue, with 12 seats available to a session, but it will be worth it.
Watch out for us when the awards are announced. This year we’ve entered the Palux Touch’n'Steam with confidence of a win – it has already won the Red Dot award for product design in Europe, along with Porsche and some other world renowned products.
I visited La Grange restaurant on Rue Mouffetard,my namesake in Paris, on my honeymoon and enjoyed the three course menu and a good bottle of red. Friends went there after us and said, with its rustic charm and cooking utensils hung in pride of place on the walls, the place is just like me.
